Audiobooks

"Every crisis creates opportunity". When COVID-19 became a pandemic and arrived full-blown in March 2020, it was necessary to think of ways to keep the balls rolling and the plates spinning. With several filming days indefinitely postponed and canceled contracts, a strategy had to be thought up.

With remote working being the obvious alternative to an entire planet, the solution was clear: to put good equipment to good use. Mic, preamp, tripod, acoustic blankets, everything left the closet and became permanent home decor. After a short while (which felt like an eternity), the improvised acoustics became more and more professional, and the recorded audio started passing very strict quality tests.

It didn't take long for an opportunity to arise though a company called ANC, an Italian publisher focused on the production and distribution of audiobooks worldwide, especially in the English language. The first book was like climbing a mountain, but came out brilliant. The 200 page production took 11 days and resulted in 5 hours and 30 minutes of audio. The second one was slightly easier to produce, the third had its moments, and from the fourth one on it just became part of the day-to-day routine.

From “How to Analyze People with Psychology and Brainwashing” all the way up to “Trucking Business”, 24 books have been recorded for ANC, for a total of 204 hours and 11 minutes of recorded audio from 6,594 pages and 1,692,108 words.
